Pastor Fred Kensler was born in Bellefontaine, OH. He received a B.A. in Pastoral Ministry with a minor in Bible and Theology from John Wesley College in High Point, NC. In addition, he holds four teaching certificates in bible studies.
Kensler was initially called into the Prison Ministry where he served for 10 years before entering the pastorate. He served as pastor at Longview Friends Church in Danville, VA, and in July of 2003, he was called to Goshen.
Kensler is greatly impacted by the quality of the people who attend Goshen. With the support of the community, his vision is for the "good" church of Goshen to become a "great" church. "A church that is dynamic and excels in every area of ministry we offer." In an effort to impact the community and surrounding areas he added, "I believe scripture is clear that Christians should be a member of a local body of believers. I also believe that each member is called to be involved in ministry. At Goshen, it is our goal to equip each member to carry out the ministry that God has gifted them for."
